In a world increasingly driven by digital connectivity and convenience, QR codes have emerged as a powerful tool for businesses and individuals alike. These pixelated squares hold the key to unlocking a treasure trove of information, from website links and contact details to event tickets and promotions. If you’re looking to harness the potential of QR codes to enhance your marketing efforts or simply want to create one for personal use, you’re in the right place. In this guide, we’ll walk you through the process of generating QR codes for free, without giving away your email address, and without having to download an app.

Step 1: Visit dataqrcode.com

Visit https://dataqrcode.com

dataqrcode is a bare bones QR code generator that will allow you to generate as many QR codes as you would like without signing up or giving away you information. The website is mobile friendly, so you should be able to use a mobile browser if you are on a mobile device.

When you arrive on the website, you should be presented with the form pictured in the screenshot below.

The toolbox window for configuring your QR code

Step 2: Generating your QR code

Next, we’ll want to paste the link or content that you’d like transformed into a QR code into the box that is labeled “QR code Content*”

The result window displaying the generated QR code

The QR code should automatically appear as soon as you paste the link into the text box.

You’ll notice some configuration options above the text box that you can use to configure the styling and size of your QR code.

Module Size: Controls the size of each module in the QR code

Margin: Controls the whitespace surrounding your QR code

Module Color: Controls the foreground color of your QR code

Background Color: Controls the background color of your QR code

Feel free to play around with the different options to get your new code looking the way you would like it to.

Step 3: Saving the QR code to your desktop

Once you’re all done editing your QR code, hit the big blue button underneath the code that says “SAVE QR CODE”

The SAVE QR CODE button is highlighted in red

Once you click the button, the QR code will automatically save to your Downloads folder.
